When Farah cries | Wenn Farah weint
Debut performance of a Drama of Mudar Al Haggi

"When Farah cries" is the story of an emancipation: of Farah, a young woman in Syria. Her individual libe-ration from family-, social and patriarchal constraints occurs parallel to a social attempt of liberation: the syrian revolution. The story takes place around one year since the beginning of this revolution, there is still hope. The changing of this revolution into a story of extensive war, religious occupation, flight and exile is inscribed into the drama (written in 2014) already. It reminds us of its origin and the hope connec-ted to the uprise.

"When Farah cries"  is performed in three languages (arabic, english, german) by actresses and actors from Syria, Irak and Germany.
